Organization of a mass sports event of international importance on the example of the 20th Hubert Jerzy Wagner Memorial in men's volleyball.

Celem jest przedstawienie organizacji imprezy masowej sportowej rangi międzynarodowej na przykładzie XX Memoriału Huberta Jerzego Wagnera. Przedmiotem badań niniejszej pracy są uczestnicy wydarzenia i osoby zaangażowane w jego realizację. Przeprowadzone badania pokazują przebieg i opinie uczestników na temat organizacji ww. wydarzenia. Metodami użytymi w badaniach są: metoda sondażu diagnostycznego, metoda obserwacyjna i metoda badania dokumentów źródłowych. Techniki użyte w pracy to ankieta oraz wywiad ekspercki. W wyniku badań można zauważyć bardzo wysoki poziom turnieju, nieodbiegający od normy tych organizowanych przez światowe federacje. Odbyta impreza może stanowić wzór dla innych. Memoriał Huberta Jerzego Wagnera przez lata zdążył ewoluować i urosnąć do wielkości największego na świecie turnieju towarzyskiego, a organizatorzy nie spoczywając na laurach chcą corocznie podwyższać sobie poprzeczkę nowymi atrakcjami dla kibiców oraz zwiększając poziom sportowy zapraszając kolejne wysoko postawione w rankingach kadry. Temat został podjęty z powodu pracy w TAURON Arenie Kraków i brania czynnego udziału w organizacji imprezy. Część treści jest sformułowana na podstawie moich doświadczeń.

The subject of this study are 20th Hubert Jerzy Wagner Memorial in men’s volleyball’ participants and people involved in its realization. The aim is to present the organization of a mass sports event of international importance on the example of the 20th Hubert Jerzy Wagner Memorial. The conducted research shows the course and participants' opinions on the organization of the above-mentioned events. The methods used in the research are: the diagnostic survey method, the observational method and the method of examining source documents. The techniques used in the work are a survey and an expert interview. As a result of the research, we can see a very high level of the tournament, which does not differ from the standard of those organized by world federations. The event can be a model for others. The Hubert Jerzy Wagner Memorial has managed to evolve over the years and grow into the largest social tournament in the world, and the organizers, not resting on their laurels, want to raise the bar every year with new attractions for fans and increasing the sports level by inviting more high-ranking teams. The topic covered in this thesis is raised on the basis of my work at TAURON Arena Kraków where I actively participated in organizing the event. Part of the content is based on my experiences.
