Tematem pracy jest członkostwo Austrii w Unii Europejskiej i jego wpływ na sytuację wewnętrzną i zewnętrzną kraju. Pierwszy rozdział opisuje drogę Austrii do Unii Europejskiej i wskazuje najważniejsze kwestie w negocjacjach akcesyjnych.Drugi rozdział poświęcony jest sytuacji Austrii i jej działalności na arenie UE po roku 1995. Autorka skupia się na dwóch prezydencjach w Radzie Unii Europejskiej. Wskazuje dokonania i najważniejsze wydarzenia przewodnictwa, a także punktuje ich niedociągnięcia. W tej części pracy opisany jest także udział Austrii w unii gospodarczej i politycznej. Dalej opisany jest przypadek roku 2000, w którym środowisko unijne nałożyło polityczne sankcje na Austrię ze względu na obecność partii FPÖ w koalicji rządzącej. Jeszcze inny podrozdział przedstawi udział Republiki w debacie nad wielkim rozszerzeniem Unii z 2004 roku. W rozdziale trzecim zawarta jest analizy uzyskanych korzyści i strat, jakie Austria poniosła w wyniku akcesji. Główne zagadnienia to polityka bezpieczeństwa, sytuacja polityczna i wpływ unijnej polityki kulturalnej na środkowoeuropejskie mocarstwo kulturalne. Ukazane są także zmiany w gospodarce i w nastrojach społecznych.

The main topic of the Bachelor’s Thesis is Austria’s membership in the European Union and its impact on the internal and external situation of the country. The first chapter describes the Austria’s stages of the European integration and it highlights the key issues in the accession negotiations. The second chapter depicts the situation of Austria and its activities in the EU after 1995. The author focuses on two Austrian presidencies of the Council of the European Union, she also presents the case of 2000, when the Freedom Party of Austria was the part of the ruling coalition. Another section presents the Republic in the debate over the great enlargement of the EU in 2004. The third chapter includes the analysis of the gains and losses that results from the membership. The main matters are the security and cultural policies. What is more, the last section contains political changes and it also shows the changes in the economy and in the social mood.
