The paper discusses the process of building a peculiar form of heritage, which could be described as a nomadic heritage, which is a changing constellation of reference points, flowing not so much (or not only) from a certain historical community and fixed bases of identity, but from the sum of transitory, incomplete interactions with space, which is given a symbolic dimension. This phenomenon is exemplified in the work of João Luís Barreto Guimarães, in particular the 2016 volume "Mediterrâneo" ("Mediterranean" in English translation by Calvin Olsen).
