The legal status of the Eastern Old Believers Church not having clerical hierarchy in Poland

Zamierzeniem pracy magisterskiej pt. „Położenie prawne Wschodniego Kościoła Staroobrzędowego nieposiadającego hierarchii duchownej w Polsce” jest zaprezentowanie wyznawców tego Kościoła. Praca przedstawia historię prawosławia, podziały jakie dokonały się na przestrzeni wieków oraz powstanie odłamu jakim są Staroobrzędowcy. Praca prezentuje dzieje Kościoła Staroobrzędowego w Polsce. Przedstawia gwarancje prawnej działalności zawarte m.in w Konstytucji Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej z 2 kwietnia 1997 roku czy Rozporządzeniu Prezydenta Rzeczypospolitej z dnia 22 marca 1928 roku o stosunku Państwa do Wschodniego Kościoła Staroobrzędowego nieposiadającego hierarchii duchownej. Prezentuje elementy charakterystyczne wyznawców starej wiary takie jak budownictwo sakralne, przedmioty kultu, czy stosunek do czynności życia codziennego. Wybór tej tematyki był podyktowany tym, że wyznawcy starej wiary to grupa religijna, która zamieszkuje tereny Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej, są naszymi sąsiadami a tak mało o nich wiemy. Osoba sięgająca po tą pracę dowie się jakimi zasadami kierują się Staroobrzędowcy oraz jak walczyli z prześladowaniami w obronie własnej wiary, tradycji i obyczajów.

The main goal of the thesis „The legal status of the Eastern Old Believers Church not having clerical hierarchy in Poland” is to present the followers of this Church. The paper presents the history of the Orthodox Church, the divisions that have occurred over the centuries and the emergence of splinter group which are Old Believers. This paper presents the history of the Old Believers Church in Poland. It also provides guarantees of legal activities included, among others in the Polish Constitution of 2 April 1997 or in regulation of President of the Polish Republic of 22 March 1928 concerning the relationship between State and the Eastern Old Believers Church deprived of clerical hierarchy.Thesis presents the features of the old followers of the Old Faith such as religious buildings, objects of worship, or the of attitude towards the activities of daily living.The choice of this subject was dictated by the fact that the followers of the Old Faith is a religious group that lives in the Polish Republic, being neighbors and so little is known about them. A person reaching for the thesis will obtain knowledge about rules followed by the Old Believers, and how they fought with in the persecution of their faith, traditions and customs.
