E-learning in junior secondary education as an aid for young students with specific learning diffculties

Celem pracy jest ukazanie e-learningu jako nowoczesnej metody nauczania. Autorka szeroko omawia e-learning poprzez przedstawienie jego zróżnicowanych definicji, wymienienie wad i zalet oraz zestawienie z metodami tradycyjnymi (b-learning). W związku z dużymi możliwościami e-edukacji, w dalszej części pracy proponuje jej wykorzystanie w nauczaniu osób z dysleksją rozwojową. Przekonuje, że kształcenie z zastosowaniem komputera i Internetu może pomóc w przezwyciężaniu trudności edukacyjnych. Równocześnie ostrzega przed zagrożeniami płynącymi z powszechnej komputeryzacji życia. W końcowych rozdziałach przedstawia wyniki badań (zapatrywanie uczniów i nauczycieli na e-learning) oraz propozycje metodyczne (e-learningowe lekcje z ortografii i interpunkcji dla gimnazjalistów).

The purpose of the dissertation is to prove that e-learning is a modern teaching method. The author, first explains what e-learning is through definitions, presenting its advantages and disadvantages and contrasting it with traditional teaching methods (b-learning). Due to a multitude of opportunities associated with e-education, the author recommends practical applications of e-learning while working with students suffering from developmental dyslexia. The author claims that computer and Internet-aided teaching can help overcome learning difficulties. However, she warns against the threats resulting from widespread computerization of human life. In conclusion, she presents the results of her research into the students’ and teachers’ attitude to e-learning. She also proposes some e-learning lesson plans on spelling and punctuation.
