master
The media are an important element of contemporary culture. The internet is a great tool to raise public awareness of a healthy lifestyle. A proper diet is an important factor in the prevention of many chronic noninfectious diseases and cancers. Public websites such as Nutri-Day allow users to familiarize themselves with the recommendations on the essence of a balanced diet as well as check to what extent they meet the standards of recommended intake of individual nutrients. The aim of the study was to evaluate changes in the diet of people actively using the Nutri-Day application. The assessment was based on user profiles regularly using the website, introduced menus and their analysis on the basis of standards developed by the Institute of Food and Nutrition. The study observed a decrease in the amount of sodium consumed, while there was no significant change in fiber supply nor nutritional density or caloric content of meals consumed at the beginning and end of using the application. Particular attention was paid to the occurrence of deficiencies and excesses in the diet of portal users. An increase in the number of people meeting the recommended norms was observed in the supply of vitamins A, B1 and B2, in other cases the number remained unchanged or decreased.Due to the small sample size, the obtained differences in the supply of nutrients and minerals were mostly not statistically significant, however, the study may be an inspiration for further observation of the diet of people actively using applications and nutrition calculators available on the Internet.pl
Media stanowią istotny element współczesnej kultury. Internet jest doskonałym narzędziem do poszerzania świadomości społeczeństwa dotyczącej zdrowego stylu życia. Odpowiednia dieta stanowi istotny czynnik profilaktyki wielu przewlekłych chorób niezakaźnych i nowotworów. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono występowaniu niedoborów i nadmiarów w diecie użytkowników portalu. Wzrost liczby osób realizujących zalecane normy zaobserwowano w przypadku podaży witaminy A, B1 i B2, w pozostałych przypadkach liczba ta pozostała bez zmian lub uległa obniżeniu.
