Celem pracy jest przestawienie czym jest, z czego się składa i w jaki sposób konstruowana jest tożsamość śląska – śląskość dwóch pokoleń Ślązaczek. Analiza tematu opiera się na badaniach kobiet, w dwóch grupach wiekowych – powyżej 20 roku życia i powyżej 60 roku życia.Zapleczem teoretycznym pracy są koncepcje związane z tożsamością etniczną i tożsamością pogranicza, które stały się podstawą do analizowania tematu w dwóch ostatnich rozdziałach pracy. W pracy zaprezentowane są także inne wybrane badania dotyczące Śląska i kobiet.Praca ta ma przedstawić proces konstruowania tożsamości śląskiej i to, czym jest śląskość dla dwóch pokoleń Ślązaczek, z zaznaczeniem najważniejszych wartości, roli tradycji, kultury i języka w podkreślaniu własnej odrębności etnicznej. Drugą sprawą jest przedstawienie obrazu kobiety na Śląsku – jej podstawowych ról, charakterystyki oraz podstawowych życiowych zadań.Problematyka, która jest przedmiotem tej pracy ma znaczenie z socjologicznego punktu widzenia, ponieważ przedstawia to w jaki sposób Ślązacy jako grupa etniczna przez lata podtrzymywali swoją tożsamość regionalną. Praca ta prezentuje jak przeszłość i teraźniejszość, wpływy niemieckie i polskie kształtowały śląskość i to, czym jest współcześnie.

Aim of this work is to put what it is, what it consists of and how identity is Silesian identity constructed in women of two generations. Analysis of the theme is based on the study of women in two age groups - over 20 years of age and above 60 years of age.Work is a theoretical concepts related to ethnic identity and the identity of the border, which became the basis for analyzing the subject in the last two chapters of work. The work is presented as other selected studies of Silesia and women.This work is expected to present the process of construction of the Silesian identity and what it is for two generations of Silesian woman, indicating the most important values, the role of tradition, culture and language in stressing their ethnic distinctiveness. The second thing is to present the image of a woman in Silesia - its basic roles, characteristics and basic life tasks.The issue that is the subject of this work is important from a sociological point of view, because it shows how the Silesians as ethnic group over the years upheld its regional identity. This work shows how the past and the present, the influence of German and Polish Silesian affiliation influenced the shape and what it is today.
