The U. S. Central Command as an Element of American Foreign Policy in the Middle East

Rozdział drugi przybliża historię Bliskiego Wschodu a także historię stosunków USA z poszczególnymi państwami tego regionu. Rozdział trzeci skupia się na Siłach Zbrojnych Stanów Zjednoczonych, opisuje hierarchie dowódczą i podział na dowództwa regionalne. W rozdziale czwartym opisane jest dowództwo U. S. Central Command, jego powstanie, funkcjonowanie, teren odpowiedzialności i cele istnienia, a także formacje wojskowe podległe pod to dowództwo. Rozdział piąty skupia się na historii działania U.S. Central Command i najważniejszych operacjach prowadzonych przez to dowództwo od momentu jego powstania.

The following thesis concerns subjects related to US military presence in the Middle East since the eighties of the twentieth century. The thesis consist of five chapters.Chapter one depicts the evolution of the US Foreign Policy from the 19th to the 21st century. Moreover, the chapter describes the prime foreign policy principles each of the US presidents individually.Chapter two brings the history of the Middle East as well as the history of relations between USA and other countries of the region.Chapter three is focused on the United States Armed Forces and describes the command structure and the Unified Combatant Commands.Chapter four describes the command of the U. S. Central Command, its creation and operation, area of responsibility and objectives of its existence as well as the U.S. Armed Forces subjected to the USCENTCOM.Chapter five concentrates on the history of the U. S. Central Command military operations and the most important engagements since the establishment of the USCENTCOM.
