Pilar Quintana's La perra from the perspective of ecocriticism

Niniejsza praca bada temat literackiego przedstawienia natury w Ameryce Łacińskiej na podstawie dzieła Pilar Quintany „Suka”. Jako metodologię analityczną została zastosowana metoda hermeneutyczna. Celem tej pracy jest przedstawienie powieści „Suka” jako część krytyki ekologicznej. Praca została podzielona na trzy rozdziały, z których pierwszy bada historię ekokrytyki, jej początków na terenie Ameryki Południowej oraz klasyfikuje powieść do gatunku „novela de la tierra”. Następnie przedstawiono postać Pilar Quintany oraz jej dorobek literacki. Za ostatni rozdział uważa się analizę ekokrytyczną jednej z jej najszerzej komentowanych prac ostatnich lat, powieści „Suka”.

This thesis explores the theme of the literary representation of nature in Latin America, based on Pilar Quintana's work ‘The Bitch’. The hermeneutic method has been used as an analytical methodology. The aim of this thesis is to present the novel ‘The Bitch’ as part of an ecological critique. The work is divided into three chapters, the first of which examines the history of ecocriticism, its origins in South America and classifies the novel into the genre of ‘novela de la tierra’. This is followed by an introduction to the figure of Pilar Quintana and her literary output. The final chapter is considered to be an ecocritical analysis of one of her most widely commented works of recent years, the novel ‘The Bitch’.

Esta tesis explora el tema de la representación literaria de la naturaleza en América Latina a partir de la obra “La Perra” de Pilar Quintana. De metodología analítica sirve el método hermenéutico. El objetivo de esta tesis es presentar la novela “La Perra” como parte de una crítica ecológica. El trabajo se divide en tres capítulos, el primero de los cuales examina la historia de la ecocrítica, sus orígenes en Sudamérica y clasifica la novela en el género de novela de la tierra. A continuación, se presenta la figura de Pilar Quintana y su producción literaria. El último capítulo se plantea como un análisis ecocrítico de una de sus obras más comentadas de los últimos años, la novela “La Perra”.
