Celem pracy jest przedstawienie ubioru jako wyrazu buntu i manifestacji alternatywnej oceny rzeczywistości. Korzystając z publikacji książkowych, artykułów prasowych oraz zasobów internetowych, w pracy zostały przedstawione dzieje mody od czasów prehistorii do współczesności, ukazując ewolucję ubioru, oraz jego funkcje.Podstawą pracy było wyjaśnienie pojęcia mody, ubioru w kontekście kontestacji rzeczywistości, wyrażanej przez ubiór.Na podstawie omówionych przykładów buntu oraz analizy badania ankietowego, w pracy pokazano w jaki sposób nasz styl ubierania się może być odzwierciedleniem tego, kim jesteśmy, z jakimi grupami się utożsamiamy.
