Text as an authority - a strategy against the text in the performances Nirvana and Odyssey, directed by Krzysztof Garbaczewskiego

Praca dotyczy sposobu pracy z tekstem wyjściowym spektaklu i traktowania go jako pewnego rodzaju autorytet. Przez przywołanie koncepcji teatru postdramatycznego, zaproponowanej przez Hansa-Thiesa Lehmanna zostaje nakreślony kontekst teoretyczny pomocny do analizy bardziej szczegółowych zagadnień. Celem pracy jest interpretacja spektakli Nirvana i Odyseja. Tekst rozumiany jest tu jako różnego rodzaju wypowiedzi - przez podstawowe rozumienie tekstu jako materiału literackiego, do niewerbalnych elementów tworzących tekst inscenizacji. The essay concerns the meaning of basic text and treating it as some kind of authority. The aim of the work is to interpret the performances Nirvana and Odyssey. The text is understood here as the various kinds of speech - the basic understanding of the text as literary material, the text forming the non-verbal elements of staging. Text in both performances is regarded as a source of knowledge and also the related power, against which the director uses a number of actions on stage. Garbaczewski debunks the power of text as a non-functional now, but from which we can not escape. In his performances, the text is a cultural emblem, a sign of something imposed and accepted as inviolable.
