Posttraumatic stress disorder among paramedics and hospital staff.

Wstęp: Stres stanowi nietypową reakcję organizmu na oddziałujące na niego bodźce negatywne. Jest zatem relacją między możliwościami jednostki, a wymaganiami, jakie są jej stawiane. Mechanizmami obronnymi organizmu na działające stresory są metody radzenia sobie ze stresem. Stanowią one nieświadome zjawisko objawiające się wykonywaniem pewnych czynności zmierzających do obniżenia przeżywanego stresu. W licznych przypadkach konsekwencją traumatycznych epizodów zdarzających się ludziom może okazać się wystąpienie objawów zespołu stresu pourazowego (PTSD). Wymieniona jednostka chorobowa jest na tyle poważna, że potrafi zaburzyć prawidłowe funkcjonowanie człowieka na wielu płaszczyznach życia. Cel pracy: Celem pracy jest ustalenie, czy wśród ratowników medycznych oraz pracowników szpitala występują objawy zespołu stresu pourazowego.Materiał i metody: Badania przeprowadzono w sierpniu 2016 r. wśród ratowników medycznych, lekarzy oraz pielęgniarek pracujących w Zespole Opieki Zdrowotnej w Dąbrowie Tarnowskiej oraz podległej mu Stacji Pogotowia Ratunkowego. Do badań wykorzystano Kwestionariusz PTSD, a także kwestionariusz ankiety.Wyniki: w badanej grupie stwierdzono występowanie pełnych kryteriów spełniających diagnozę zespołu stresu pourazowego u jednego lekarza, natomiast u części osób potwierdzono występowanie objawów nawracania, unikania oraz pobudzenia.

Background: Stress is an abnormal reaction of the body to act on his impulses negative. It is therefore the relationship between the individual possibilities and the requirements that are placed on it. Defense mechanisms of the body to stressors are acting methods of dealing with stress. They represent unconscious phenomenon manifested by the performance of certain operations to reduce the stress experienced. In many cases, the consequence of traumatic episodes occurring to people may be symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Said disease entity is so serious that it can interfere with the proper functioning of the human in many areas of life.Aim: The aim of the study is to determine whether any of paramedics and hospital staff symptoms of PTSD.Material and methods: The study was conducted in August 2016. Among paramedics, doctors and nurses working in the Healthcare Complex in Dabrowa Tarnowska and subordinated Ambulance Service. The questionnaire used in the study of PTSD, as well as a questionnaire.The results: in the study group were found meeting the full criteria for a diagnosis of PTSD at one doctor, while in parts of confirmed symptoms of conversion, avoidance and arousal.
