Przydatność podręcznika “Gateway plus 2” w przygotowaniu uczniów do części ustnej egzaminu maturalnego- ewaluacja podręcznika

Celem mojej pracy było zbadanie przydatności podręcznika “Gateway plus 2” w przygotowaniu uczniów do części ustnej egzaminu maturalnego. Głównym celem pracy było sprawdzenie w jaki sposób podręcznik przygotowuje uczniów do części ustnej egzaminu maturalnego. Kolejnym celam badania było stwierdzenie czy nauczyciele uważają, że podręcznik zawiera wystarczające materiały przygotowujące uczniów to części ustnej egzaminu maturalnego, jak również określenie jakie materiały są najbardziej efektywne w rozwoju umiejętności mówienia. W pierwszej części pracy zawarłam teoretyczne informacje dotyczące podręcznika, procesu ewaluacji, a także wymagań egzaminacyjnych. Druga część pracy dotyczy całego procesu badania.Rezultaty wykazały, że podręcznik “Gateway plus 2” jest dobrym źródłem materiałów przygotowujących uczniów to części ustnej egzaminu maturalnego. Większość nauczycieli przyznało, że podręcznik zawiera przydatne materiały do rozwijania sprawności mówienia, jednakże mógłby on zostać uzupełniony dodatkowymi materiałami i ćwiczeniami.

The study investigated the usefulness of the coursebook “Gateway plus 2” in preparing students for the oral part of the senior secondary school leaving exam. The major objective was to describe all the tasks and materials used in the coursebook to prepare students for the oral part of the senior secondary school leaving exam. Other objectives were to check if the teachers think that the coursebook provides sufficient materials to prepare learners for the oral part of the final exam and get information from them about the most effective materials used in the practice of speaking skills. The first section of the thesis includes the analysis of the literature which provides the basic theoretical knowledge about coursebooks, the evaluation process and the oral test specifications. The second part of this thesis concentrates on the research process. The results showed that the coursebook “Gateway plus 2” is a good source of materials, which can be used to prepare learners for the oral part of the senior secondary school leaving exam. Most teachers admitted that the coursebook is helpful in the practice of speaking skills but they also said that it could be improved by providing some additional materials and exercises.
