Niniejsza praca dyplomowa bada przedstawienie żołnierzy powracających do domu w filmach wojennych z wykorzystaniem klinicznego obrazu zespołu stresu pourazowego (PTSD) jako instrumentu analizy tych obrazów. Analizując wybór filmów obejmujący różne okresy oraz style filmowania, rozważam, w jaki sposób przedstawiany jest żołnierz powracający z wojny, jakie objawy traum widzimy oraz jaki wpływ takie reprezentacje mają na społeczne postrzeganie traumy. Badam też kwestie etyczne związane z tymi zagadnieniami. Korzystając z teorii filmu, badań nad traumą PTSD oraz analizy kulturowej, badam złożoność przedstawiania traumy psychicznej na ekranie i jego szersze implikacje.

This thesis examines the portrayal of soldiers returning home in war films, using post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as an instrument to analyze these depictions. By analyzing a selection of films from various time periods and filmmaking styles, this study delves into how soldiers returning from war are represented through symptoms of psychological trauma and the impact such representations have on societal perceptions of this genre and the ethical issues associated with the subject. Utilizing film theory, PTSD trauma research, and cultural analysis, this thesis explores the complexities of depicting psychological trauma on screen and its broader implications.
