THE ROLE AND THE MEANING OF COMMUNICATION IN STREETWORKER'S WORK.

Niniejsza praca podejmuje temat komunikacji w streetworkingu. Celem jest ukazanie metod pracy streetworkerów oraz sposobów nawiązywania kontaktu ze swoimi podopiecznymi. Pierwszy rozdział stanowi podłoże teoretyczne dalszej części. Zostało w nim omówione zjawisko dzieci ulicy jako problemu ogólnoświatowego, który dotyka kraje bogate, jak i kraje Trzeciego Świata. Przedstawiona jest charakterystyka i przyczyny jego występowania. Omówiona jest również rola rodziny i środowiska wychowawczego młodzieży, będących czynnikami determinującymi rozwój osobowości młodego człowieka. W kolejnej części omówione zostało zjawisko streetworkingu, który wychodzi naprzeciw problemom dzieci ulicy, wraz z metodami pracy i działaniami pedagogów ulicznych. Następny rozdział pracy poświęcony jest komunikacji w streetworkingu. Zawiera on podstawowe pojęcia dotyczące komunikacji, które w dalszej jego części pokazane są w kontekście omawianego zjawiska. Ostatnia część pracy ma charakter badawczy. Badania pokazały, że umiejętności komunikacyjne streetworkerów stanowią fundament ich pracy i przekładają się na jej efekt końcowy. Stwierdzono również, że metody pracy pedagogów z dziećmi ulicy są różnorodne, tak samo, jak motywy podjęcia przez nich tego zawodu. Da jednych jest to misja, a dla drugich drzwi do przyszłej kariery zawodowej.

This thesis takes up a topic of communication in the streetworking. The aim is to present work methods of streetworkers and styles of getting in touch with their fosterlings. The first chapter introduces a theory of following sections. It discusses the phenomenon of the street children as a world-wide problem that touches rich countries as well as Third World countries. The characteristics and the ground of the phenomenon are presented. The chapter indicates the role of a family and the educational environment of youth as factors that determines development of young human’s personality. The following section discusses the phenomenon of streetworking that meets problems of the street children along with varied cooperating methods and actions of street-educators. The next chapter is devoted to a communication in streetworking. It contains the basic concepts of the communication that are shown in combination of the phenomenon in the following part of the chapter. The last part of the thesis is based on research. The researches have shown that the communication abilities of the streetworkers are the foundation of their work and influence the net effect. It was established that the methods of the pedagogues work with children are various, as well as the motives of choosing this occupation. It is a mission for some people and the door to the future professional life for others.
