Praca omawia wystroje wnętrz handlowych i usługowych „starej” części Nowej Huty, powstałych w pierwszym dwudziestoleciu istnienia tego założenia architektoniczno-urbanistycznego. Wyjaśniono w niej znaczenie określenia „stara” Nowa Huta oraz zaproponowano definicję pojęcia lokal handlowy/usługowy. Praca przedstawia historię powstania oraz opisy oryginalnych wystrojów wnętrz. Została w niej również poruszona kwestia ochrony omawianych przestrzeni oraz ich przekształcenia dokonane przez ostatnie dziesięciolecia. W aneksie przedstawiono opisy wybranych wnętrz handlowych i usługowych oraz porównano ich stan oryginalny z obecnym.

This paper deals with the subject of the interior design of trade and service facilities of the "old" part of Nowa Huta, created during the first twenty years of this urban complex. It provides definitions of crucial terms: "old Nowa Huta" as well as trade and service facilities . The work presents the short history of the district's creation and descriptions of the original interiors. The author has not only raised the problem of their protection but also presented their transformations carried out over the past decades. The appendix contains descriptions of selected interiors of trade and service facilities and compares their original condition to the present one.
