Based on a thorough analysis of literature and research findings the thesis focuses on various aspects of communication that impact marital quality.The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to analyze the role and significance of interpersonal communication in building a successful marital relationship. The thesis discusses the theoretical foundations of interpersonal communication, including definitions, elements of the communication process, and family communication models. The literature review covers among others John Gottman’s research and John Bowlby’s attachment theory, which illustrate the impact of communication on marital relationships. The thesis also analyzes techniques and strategies for improving communication in the context of couples therapy. Effective communication is emphasized as crucial for building emotional bonds and relationship satisfaction in marriage. Challenges and communication barriers that may inhibit marital relationships are identified, along with techniques for overcoming them. The final section of the thesis presents original educational proposals aimed at preparing young people for effective communication in their future relationships. The importance of family-oriented education at both school and premarital stages for building lasting and satisfying marital relationships is also emphasized in this thesis.
