Social structure of the population of Przeworsk culture during Roman influence in the light of recent research

W niniejszej pracy, przedstawiony został aktualny stan badań nad niektórymi aspektami zróżnicowania społecznego ludności kultury przeworskiej, na podstawie wybranych materiałów sepulkralnych oraz form zabudowy z osad. W pracy tej, poruszony został wątek statusu społecznego wojowników, rękodzielników związanych z obróbką metali kolorowych, kobiet oraz elit. Podjęta została również kwestia określenia stopnia złożoności organizacji struktury społecznej ludności kultury przeworskiej oraz jej ewolucja w czasie. Oprócz materiałów archeologicznych, w rozważaniach tych uwzględnione zostały również źródła pisane. Chronologicznie niniejsza praca, odnosi się do okresu wpływów rzymskich, tj. od I w.n.e. do 1-ej połowy V w.n.e. Terytorialnie, zakres niniejszych studiów odnosi się do ziem południowej i środkowej Polski, objętym osadnictwem analizowanej kultury.

In this paper, the current state of research of the social diversity of the Przeworsk culture population, based on selected sepulchral materials and forms of settlements has been presented. In this work, the topic of social status of warriors, handicraftsmen working on non-ferrous metals, women and elites was discussed. The issue of determining the degree of complexity of organization of the social structure of the Przeworsk culture population and its evolution over time was also taken into consideration. In addition to the archaeological material, this paper also include written sources. Chronologically, this work refers to the period of Roman influence, i.e. from the 1st century AC until the 1st half of 5th century AC. Territorially, the scope of this study refers to the south and central Poland, covered by the settlements of analyzed culture.
