The relationship between psychological gender and age with the possessed ideal of femininity among women.

Celem niniejszej pracy było zbadanie, jaki ideał kobiety funkcjonuje wśród Polek w dwóch grupach wiekowych (17 - 22 lat, 40-50 lat) oraz czy jest on związany z trzema kategoriami płci psychologicznej - kobiecą kobiecością, męską kobiecością oraz androgynią. Analizowano czy zachodzi związek pomiędzy deklarowanymi wartościami mierzonymi kwe- stionariuszem PVQ a ideałem kobiety. Sprawdzano, również czy deklarowane wartości po- między wymienionymi grupami są do siebie zbliżone. W badaniu wzięło udział 60 kobiet. Połowa badanych znajdowała się w fazie wejścia w dorosłość (17 - 22 lat). Pozostała część badanych była w okresie przekroczenia połowy życia ( 40-50 lat). Badania nie potwierdziły głównych hipotez badawczych dotyczących różnic we wskazywanym ideale przez kobiety a płcią psychologiczną. Jednakże, ideał ten różni się między przedstawicielkami wyróżnionych grup wiekowych. Starsze kobiety, częściej zwracały uwagę na wygląd zewnętrzny oraz atrakcyjność fizyczną. Młodsze kobiety rzadziej skupiały się na powierzchowności. Wyniki badań sugerują, iż zmiany w postrzeganiu ideału kobiety zachodzą w większej mierze w kon- tekście wieku, niż płci psychologicznej.

The aim of this study was to research on what is the vision of the ideal women among Polish women in two age groups (17 - 22, 40-50) and is it connected with the three categories of gender identity - feminine women, masculine women and the androgynous type. Main hy- pothesis analyzed whether there is a link between the declared values measured with PVQ questionnaire and the ideal woman. What also was taken in consideration is the declared val- ues of the research group in order to check the similarities in core values. The study involved 60 women. Half of the group was in early adult transition (17-22) and the rest of the group was in mid-life transition (40-50). The result of studies did not confirm the main hypothesis. However differences in the vision if the ideal women where noticed between the two age groups. Elder women more often paid attention to features related to appearance and sexual attractiveness. The studies imply that the differences in the vision of the ideal women are based on the age rather then on the gender identity.
