Samuel Łaszcz- a known firebrand and reaver of the XVII century

Niniejsza praca ma na celu przedstawienie postaci Samuela Łaszcza, strażnika wielkiego koronnego, znanego awanturnika i żołnierza XVII wieku na tle wydarzeń historycznych, które miały miejsce w drugiej połowie XVII wieku na Ukrainie. Samuel był jedną z najwybitniejszych, ale i najbardziej kontrowersyjnych postaci swojego czasu. Zasłynął nie tylko jako wierny żołnierz w służbie Rzeczypospolitej, ale także jako znienawidzony przez wielu banita i awanturnik. W pracy przedstawiłem karierę wojskową, a także życie rabunkowe i zbójeckie tytułowego bohatera. Ramy czasowe pracy obejmują wydarzenia na Ukrainie w pierwszej połowie XVII wieku, aż do powstania Bohdana Chmielnickiego.

This paper aims to present the figure of Samuel Łaszcz, the guardian of the Crown, known adventurer and the solider of the seventeenth century against historical events that had taken place in the second half of the seventeenth century in Ukraine. Samuel was one of the greatest and also most controversial person of his time. He became famous not only for being a faithful solider in the service of the Republic but also as a hated by many outcast and adventurer. The work presents the military career and also the robbery and rogue life of the title hero. The time frame of the work includes events in Ukraine in the second half of the seventeenth century, until the formation of Bohdan Chmielnicki.
