The research paper is devoted to the image of radio broadcasters with rhotacismand the influence of this defect on their reception by the audience. In the first part, thesubject of pronunciation flaws and the rhotacism itself is presented, whereas the secondchapter exposes the requirements presented by the radio station for applicants andemployees. Among other things, it talks about the microphone card and radio stationfeatures. In the last part of the text, there is an analysis - a structured interview -conducted with two journalists. The examples of these people show that suchpronunciation defect does not prevent the activity on air, and may even become an assetfor its owner. Thanks to the original articulation of the sound [r], the holder and theprogramme he is conducting can become more recognizable, and the specific way ofspeaking provides an opportunity to attract and intrigue listeners.
