The Sunflower Student Movement in Taiwan´s popular songs´ lyrics

18 marca 2014 roku, w reakcji na decyzję rządzącej partii - Kuomintangu - o przyspieszeniu ratyfikacji umowy Cross-Strait Service Trade Agreement podpisanej z Chińską Republiką Ludow, grupa studentów wdarła się do izby Yuanu Ustawodawczego w stolicy Tajwanu,Tajpej. Wydarzenie to dało początek początek trwającym 24 dni protestom okupacji Yuanu Ustawodawczego, które w konsekwencji doprowadziły do wycofania się Tajwanu z umowy i silnie wpłynęły na kształ tajwańskiej sceny politycznej. Celem niniejszej pracy licencjackiej jest zarysowanie sytuacji politycznej Tajwanu i jego relacji z Chinami w latach poprzedzających Rewolucję Słoneczników oraz wydarzeń które stały się bezpośrednimi przyczynami protestów., opis przebiegu Rewolucji Słoneczników, a także tłumaczenie i analiza tekstów dwóch piosenek poświęconych wydarzeniom Rewolucji Słoneczników.

On March 18, 2014, in response to the decision of the ruling party - Kuomintang - to speed up the ratification of the Cross-Strait Service Trade Agreement signed with the People's Republic of China, a group of students stormed the Legislative Yuan in Taiwan´s capital city of Taipei. This event gave rise to the protests and occupation of the Legislative Yuan that spanned 24 days, resulted in Taiwan's withdrawal from the agreement and strongly influenced the Taiwanese political scene.The purpose of this BA thesis is to outline the political situation on Taiwan and its relations with China in the years preceding the Sunflower Student Movement and the events that became the direct causes of the protests, describe the course of the Sunflower Student Movement, as well as to translate and analyze the lyrics of two songs related to the events of the Sunflower Student Movement.
