Model of nursing care peritoneal dialysis patient

Nursing a patient in the course of peritoneal dialysis consists first of all of educating the patient. The question of how the patient will cope with his new situation depends greatly on the medical personnel, especially on the nurses. This education constitutes a priority in the programme of dialysis treatment. The presented material, based on medical literature, presents diseases that contribute to renal substitute treatment. It also differentiates between the various dialysis techniques (automated peritoneal dialysis – ADO, and constant ambulatory peritoneal dialysis – CADO) and presents their advantages and disadvantages. The most important, however, are the problems of the dialysed patients, and the attempts at the most convenient solutions.

W dużej mierze od personelu medycznego (zwłaszcza pielęgniarskiego) zależy jak chory będzie sobie radził z „nowością” jaką jest dializa otrzewnowa. Edukacja pacjenta stanowi priorytetową składową programu leczenia dializą, jest bardzo ważna na każdym etapie tego procesu. W zebranym materiale opartym na literaturze medycznej przedstawiono jednostki chorobowe, które przyczyniają się do leczenia nerkozastępczego, podjęto próbę różnicowania sposobu dializowania ADO i CADO, ich zalety i wady. Najważniejsze jednak to zawarte problemy chorych dializowanych i ich najlepsze rozwiązanie.
