The Relationship between Development of Moral Reasoning and Wisdom

Przedmiotem tej pracy jest zbadanie związku pomiędzy poziomem rozumowania moralnego opartego na trosce i odpowiedzialności, a poziomem mądrości w ujęciu Sternberga. Część teoretyczna pracy rozpoczyna się od przedstawienia koncepcji rozwoju rozumowania moralnego oraz badań związanych z tym zagadnieniem. W dalszej części opisywane są koncepcje mądrości i badania prowadzone w tym temacie. Później następuje opis badania dotyczącego związku mądrości i rozumowania moralnego. Na koniec tej części postawiona zostaje hipoteza o istnieniu związku pomiędzy poziomem rozumowania moralnego a poziomem mądrości. Ponadto stawiane są pytania badawcze dotyczące związku obu tych konstruktów z wiekiem, płcią, wykształceniem, pozostawaniem w stałym związku oraz rodzicielstwem. Wyniki badania pokazały istotną statystycznie i pozytywną korelację pomiędzy poziomem rozumowania moralnego i poziomem mądrości. Nie było natomiast związku żadnego z tych dwóch konstruktów z wiekiem. Brak różnic stwierdzono także w analizach wyników dotyczących pozostałych pytań badawczych. W przyszłości warto zająć się dalszym badaniem zagadnień związanych z rozwojem rozumowania moralnego oraz z mądrością.

The goal of this paper was to examine a relationship between level of care-based moral reasoning and level of wisdom as it is seen by Sternberg. Theoretical part of this work concentrates on describing theories of moral development and wisdom and research done within both subjects. Later we describe the research examining relationship between them. At the end this part, we hypothesize that there is relationship between care-based moral reasoning and wisdom. There are also questions asked: is there relationship between age and moral reasoning and wisdom? Are there sex differences in levels of moral reasoning and wisdom? Are there differences between people with different formal education? Are there differences between people in relationship and singles? Are there differences between parents and people who do not have children? The results state that there is relationship between wisdom and moral reasoning. Other questions show no relationship or differences.
