Analysis of triterpenoids fraction from Sorbus intermedis fruits.

Celem niniejszej pracy było zbadanie frakcji triterpenowej pozyskanej z wyciągu chloroformowego owoców jarząba szwedzkiego (Sorbus intermedia). Inne eksperymenty pokazały iż jarząb ten jest źródłem flawonoidów,poliprenoli.Swedisch Whitebeam jest gatunkiem z rodzaju Sorbus występującym naturalnie na Wybrzeżu Bałtyckim. Stosując techniki chromatografii kolumnowej i średniociśnieniowej chromatografii cieczowej z użyciem układu chloroform:metanol(12:0,5), wyizolowano frakcję triterpenową którą poddano dalszemu oczyszczaniu. Badana frakcja i wyciąg chloroformowy z owoców Sorbus intermedia wykazały słabą aktywność przeciwzapalną i umiarkowaną aktywność cytotoksyczną. Warto podjąć próby zidentyfikowania związku wchodzącego w skład otrzymanej frakcji.

The aim of analysis was to provide that the fruits of Sorbus intermedia are sources of triterpenoids. Other experiments showed that the Sobus species are rich sources of flavonoids, poliprenols and triterpenoids. Swedisch Whitebeam( Sorbus intermedia) is species which naturally occur on the Baltic coast. Moreover is a tree which are planted as a decorative plant.Pre-analysis of the phytochemicals of the S. intermedia fruits confirmed the presence of flavonoids, leukoanthocyanidins and terpenoids. Performed the TLC chromatography test in order to confirm occurrence of triterpenoids in the raw material. TLC chromatography indicated that chloroform extract of S.intermedia fruits contains triterpenoids which gave similar signal on the plate as a ursolic acid. The test compound were isolated by the column chromatography(CC) and medium pressure liquid chromatography (MPLC). Received fractions were purified by the preparative chromatography. Isolated compound (which contain two substances) is triterpenoid. It is important to search other methods to isolated pure compound. Experiments have showed that extract and isolated compound have cytotoxic activity and weak anti-inflammatory activity.
