The Creation of the State of Israel in the Context of the Jewish - Palestinian Conflict

Problem konfliktu izraelsko-palestyńskiego należy dziś do najbardziej złożonych zagadnień w regionie Bliskiego Wschodu. Temat niniejszej pracy obejmuje genezę konfliktu od wieku XIX, a także początek wieku XX. Przedstawiona została działalność i idee Ojców Założycieli ruchu syjonistycznego oraz reakcja na nie społeczności arabskich na Bliskim Wschodzie. Następnie analizie poddany został okres wojen światowych oraz ich wpływ na sytuację w Palestynie ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem działań Wielkiej Brytanii, które to sprzyjały powstawaniu wzajemnej niechęci między Żydami a Arabami. Opisane zostały jedne z ważniejszych dla rozwoju wzajemnych stosunków napięcia wśród społeczności w regionie. W dalszej kolejności przedstawiony został konflikt zbrojny w Palestynie w latach 1947-1948 oraz wojna o niepodległość Izraela zakończona w roku 1949.

The problem of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is one of the most complex issues in the Middle East region today. The subject of this work covers the origins of the conflict since the 19th century, as well as the beginning of the 20th century. The activities and ideas of Founding Fathers of the Zionist movement and the reaction of Arab communities in the Middle East were presented. Then the period of world wars and their impact on the situation in Palestine was analyzed, with particular emphasis on the actions of the United Kingdom, which have encouraged the emergence of mutual aversion between Jews and Arabs. Some of the most important tensions among the communities living in Palestine had been described. The military conflict in the region in the years 1947-1948 and the war for independence of Israel ended in 1949 were further presented.
