The process of becoming an artist in the Hermann Hesse's novel ''Gertrud''

Niniejsza praca ma na celu ukazanie procesu stawania się artystą w powieści ,,Gertrud'' i zinterpretowanie roli, jaką odgrywają w tym procesie poszczególne czynniki, które wywarły wpływ na życie głównego bohatera. Analiza fragmentów powieści pokazuje, iż stawanie się artystą nie jest łatwym procesem i potrzeba wiele czasu oraz doświadczenia, aby móc zostać nazwanym artystą.

The purpose of my thesis is to analyse the process of becoming an artist in the novel ''Gertrud'' written by Hermann Hesse. In my study I have shown that this process is complicated. Moreover I have analysed different things, which exert an influence on the main character of Hesse's novel. Summing up my thesis states that it takes a long time to become an artist and not everyone, who is interested in music, has the right to be titled an artist.

In der vorliegenden Arbeit habe ich verschiedene Aspekte des Lebens untersucht, die den Beitrag zum künstlerischen Schaffen leisten. Das Ziel dieser Untersuchung ist es, die Faktoren, die für die Entwicklung eines Künstlers entscheidend sind, zu zeigen und ihre Bedeutung zu begründen. Ich habe in dieser Arbeit gezeigt, dass der Werdegang eines Künstlers kein einfacher Prozess ist.
