Otaku versus world - who they are and what is their place in society

Praca ta przedstawia szczególny typ organizacji jakim są fani mangi i anime, potocznie nazywani Otaku. Jednocześnie próbuje ją scharakteryzować i umieścić w życiu społecznym oraz codziennym. Praca pokazuje dwa podejścia do omawianego tematu: pogląd stereotypowy - wykreowany przez mass media, zarówno zagraniczne, jak i polskie oraz pogląd rzeczywisty, czyli życie od wewnątrz, ukazujące kim naprawdę są Otaku i jak wygląda ich życie. Ponadto praca wyjaśnia takie pojęcia jak organizacja i fani, jednocześnie pokazując historię fanów oraz mangi i anime, na świecie oraz w Polsce.

This work represents a particular type of organization which they are fans of manga and anime, commonly called Otaku. At the same time i try to characterize and place them in society and everyday. This essay shows two approaches to the topic: stereotypical view - created by the mass media, both foreign and Polish and actual view, it's their life from the inside, showing who they really are and how they live. In addition, this work explains terms such as organization and fans, at the same time showing fans and the history of manga and anime in the world and in Poland.
