Celem niniejszej pracy jest zobrazowanie kontaktów między Arabami i Wikingami na podstawie arabskich kronik i wydarzeń historycznych. Aktywność Skandynawów na Półwyspie Iberyjskim rozpoczęła się w IX wieku. W wielu kronikach opisano liczne ataki Wikingów. Natomiast istnieje tylko jeden opis misji dyplomatycznej, której autorem jest Ibn Diḥya. Wspomniane zostaną teksty innych autorów jak Ibn al-Qūṭīya, Ibn ʿIḏārī, Ibn Ḥayyān i Ibn H̱aldūn. Wszystkie zebrane informacje mają zobrazować sposób w jaki Arabowie postrzegali ludzi z Północy i jaki mieli do nich stosunek.
The aim of this work is to illustrate the contacts between Arabs and Vikings on the basis of Arab chronicles and historical events. Scandinavian activity on the Iberian Peninsula began in the 9th century. Numerous attacks by the Vikings are described in many chronicles. However, there is only one account of the diplomatic mission written by Ibn Diḥya. The texts of other authors will be mentioned, such as Ibn al-Qūṭīya, Ibn ʿIḏārī, Ibn Ḥayyān and Ibn H̱aldūn. All the information gathered is intended to illustrate how Arabs perceived and approached the people of the North.
