Celem niniejszej pracy licencjackiej jest zbadanie związku traumy ze światem paranormalnym w uniwersum horrorów Mike’a Flanagana na przykładzie serialu pt. „Nawiedzony dom na wzgórzu” na platformie Netflix. Praca zakłada analizę i interpretację świata paranormalnego w powyższej produkcji, jego związku z głównymi bohaterami oraz jego terapeutycznego wpływu na postacie. Przeanalizowany zostanie również sposób, w jaki horrory z uniwersum Flanagana odzwierciedlają współczesne lęki amerykańskiego społeczeństwa.
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to examine the relationship between trauma and the paranormal world in Mike Flanagan’s horror universe, using the example of the Netflix series “The Haunting of Hill House”. The thesis aims to analyze and interpret the paranormal world shown in the above production, its relationship with the main characters and its therapeutic impact on the show’s figures. It also examines how horror films and series in Flanagan’s universe reflect contemporary fears of American society.
