Organizacja imprezy sportowej, jak każde duże przedsięwzięcie, jest dla organizatora ogromnym wyzwaniem. Pomimo wielu aktów prawnych regulujących tego typu wydarzenia, nie da się przewidzieć wielu sytuacji, które mogą się zdarzyć. Polska jak do tej pory, nie miała większego doświadczenia w roli gospodarza wydarzeń sportowych na skalę światową, więc warto podkreślać wagę tego typu przedsięwzięć w różnych dyscyplinach.Przedmiotem niniejszej pracy są FIVB Mistrzostwa Świata w piłce siatkowej mężczyzn Polska 2014. Celem pracy było zaprezentowanie organizacji tej imprezy sportowej.Przebieg organizacji zawodów, to nie tylko trzy tygodnie rozgrywek transmitowanych przez czołowe media, ale przede wszystkim szereg przygotowań poprzedzających start imprezy. Opis historii dyscypliny oraz poszczególnych działań związanych z organizacją siatkarskiego mundialu pozwoli lepiej zrozumieć złożoność zagadnienia.W nawiązaniu do twierdzeń, iż sport jest przede wszystkim dla kibiców, zbadano opinie uczestników polskiego czempionatu. Za pomocą ankiety potwierdzono to, że fani siatkówki na lokalnych halach czują się bezpiecznie. Jest to o tyle ważne, iż decyduje o przyszłym sukcesie biznesowym tego typu wydarzeń sportowych. Dzięki badaniom wyjaśniono przyczyny wzrostu popularności dyscypliny oraz znaczenia Polski jako organizatora zawodów na arenie międzynarodowej.Organizacja tak istotnych imprez to poza korzyściami sportowymi również szansa na promocję kraju (miast), ale także doskonała okazja na propagowanie aktywności fizycznej.

The organization of a sporting event, like any large project is a huge challenge for the organizer. Despite a number of legal acts regulating this type of event, it is impossible to predict the number of situations that can happen. Poland has so far not had much experience in the role of host sports events on a global scale, so it is worth to emphasize the importance of this type of projects in different disciplines. The subject of this paper are the FIVB World Championships in men's volleyball Poland 2014. The aim of the study was to present the organization of the said sports event. The course of the organization of the competition, it is not just three weeks matches transmitted by leading media, but above all a series of preparations before the start of the event. Description of the history of the discipline and various activities related to the organization of the volleyball World Cup will help to better understand the complexity of the issue. In reference to the claims that the sport is primarily for the fans, we examined the opinions of participants of the Polish championship. Using the survey confirmed that volleyball fans in local halls feel safe. It is very important that determines the future success of the business of this type of sports events. Thanks to the research explained the reasons for the growth in popularity of discipline and the importance of Poland as the organizer of the competition in the international arena. The organization of such important events are beyond the benefits of sport is also a chance to promote the country (cities), but also an excellent opportunity for the promotion of physical activity.
