Pink Floyd and Roger Waters. Big and small mistakes in their music and texts

Most of the people think that Pink Floyd is the best progressive rock band in the music’s history. Since their beginnings Pink Floyd were called “psychedelic rock” because they were crossing the borders between the so-called “normal” rock music and “psychodelia” of the late 60’s like no one did before.In my work I tried to show the most important issues that Pink Floyd’s artists (under a band’s name or solo) were talking about in their own unique musical way. Artists, especially artists creating “progressive rock”, mainly are dealing with social, anti-war etc issues. They pay their attention to topics like psychological problems or social isolation of an individual which sometimes has an consequence in suicidal tendencies for example. Pink Floyd’s lyrical content also tells us a lot about important issues today, about “making a fortune at any cost”, about facing a troubles in a modern capitalistic world, it reminds us that we are humans after all. To summarize, Pink Floyd is not only a music it’s a way of life in some kind of way…

Pink Floyd według wielu to najlepszy zespół na świeciegrający rocka progresywnego. Od początków twórczości zwano tę muzykęrockiem psychodelicznym, gdyż ich projekty przeskoczyły wszystkiedokonane dotąd projekty. W pracy chcę pokazać, jakie są najważniejsze problemy poruszane przez artystów w ich muzyce i tekstach, zarówno wspólnych pod szyldem Pink Floyd jak i solowo. Artyści głównie poruszają tematykę społeczną, antywojenną, problem psychiczne i związanych z nimkonsekwencji jak samobójstwo czy izolacja od społeczeństwa. Mówiątakże o wartości pieniądza, który często stawiamy ponad wartościludzkie. Jest to też opowieść o naciskach, którym we współczesnymświecie musi stawić się każdy z nas.
