Hieronim Dekutowski

Praca ta jest próbą opisania walki, jaką prowadził Hieronim Dekutowski "Zapora", cichociemny oficer Armii Krajowej, na terenie Lubelszczyzny i sąsiadujących terenów przeciwko okupantowi hitlerowskiemu w latach 1939-1944, a więc od wybuchu II wojny światowej do wycofania się Niemców ze wspomnianych terenów pod presją wkraczających wojsk sowieckich. Praca obejmuje ponadto okres 1918-1939, tj. krótką biografię Dekutowskiego, obejmującą jego dzieciństwo i czasy młodzieńcze aż do wybuchu II wojny światowej. Powstała w oparciu o kilkadziesiąt różnorakich źródeł, publikacji, wspomnień i artykułów, dotyczących wojny obronnej Polski 1939, polskiego czynu zbrojnego w II wojnie światowej, Polskich Sił Zbrojnych na Zachodzie, Polskiego Państwa Podziemnego, Związku Walki Zbrojnej, Armii Krajowej i cichociemnych.

This work is an attempt to describe the struggle waged by Hieronim Dekutowski "Zapora", an officer of the Polish Army and one of the elite "Silent-Dark" Home Army Paratroopers, against the Nazi occupation in the period of 1939-1944 on the territory of the Lublin Voivodeship in Poland, beginning with the Nazi attack on Poland in 1939 and ending within their fallback from the region in 1944, caused by the offensive of the Soviets. More than that, it also contains a short biography of Dekutowski's earlier life in the period of 1918-1939. The work was based on many different publications, memories and articles about the defensive war of Poland 1939, the struggle waged by the Polish soldiers in World War II, the Polish Armed Forces in the West, the Polish Underground State, the Union of Armed Struggle, the Home Army and the "Silent-Dark" Home Army Paratroopers.
