"The subordinate sex” – the existencial problems of the contemporary Muslims women. Certificates of cultural artifacts and stereotypes of the West.

Przedmiotem pracy było wskazanie problemów egzystencjalnych współczesnych mahometanek z Bliskiego Wschodu i Afryki. Cele osiągnięto poprzez potwierdzenie lub zanegowanie okcydentalnych stereotypów za pomocą wyjaśnienia obyczajowości epok przedmuzułmańskich i po wprowadzeniu islamu. Ponadto zastosowano sproblematyzowanie i analizę relacji muzułmanek, zawartych w najnowszych, niezbadanych, niefikcyjnych wytworach kultury. Omówiono zagadnienia stłumienia kobiecej cielesności, patriarchalnego podporządkowania oraz narzucania mahometankom ról płciowych. Zastosowano metody badań jakościowych: hermeneutyczno – historyczną, analizę treści, krytyczną i feministyczną.

The object of this thesis is to indicate the existential problems of modern Muslims from the Middle East and Africa. The aim has been reached by both: the confirmation and the negation of the western stereotypes. There are explained customs before Muhammad's changes and changes following the introduction of Islam. There is also presented the analysis of Muslims's relations which are contained in the most recent non-fiction works of culture. The thesis discus problems with physical issues, submission to men and gender role. Methods which are used in this thesis: hermeneutics-history, content analysis, critical and feminist.
