The position of women in Muslim society on the example of Saudi Arabia and Turkey

W pracy przedstawiona została pozycja kobiety w Arabii Saudyjskiej oraz Turcji. Wskazano elementy, które mają na to decydujący wpływ oraz pokrótce opisano specyfikę islamu saudyjskiego i tureckiego. Przedstawione zostały zasady życia społecznego omawianych państw oraz ukazano rolę tradycji w postrzeganiu kobiet. Praca zawiera istotne informacje dotyczące tradycyjnych strojów muzułmańskich, ich historii oraz roli jaką pełniły w czasach przed islamskich a jaką pełnią obecnie. Poruszony został temat kobiecych praw oraz ich rozwoju, a także zawarto informacje na temat organizacji działających na rzecz równouprawnienia. Opisana została również definicja tzw. zabójstw honorowych oraz motywy tych zbrodni. Praca zawiera istotne dane, które pozwalają określić skalę tego problemu a także informacje dotyczące przemocy wobec kobiet. Głównym celem jest przybliżenie realnej sytuacji kobiet w odniesieniu nie tylko do religii, ale także do tradycji danego regionu.

The work presents the position of a woman in Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Elements which have a decisive impact on this are indicated and the specificity of Saudi and Turkish Islam is briefly described. The principles of social life in the countries discussed are presented and the role of tradition in the perception of women is shown. The work contains important information on traditional Muslim costumes, their history and the role they played in pre-Islamic times and what they are doing today. The subject of women's rights and their development was discussed, as well as information on organizations working for gender equality. The definition of the so-called honor killings and the motives of these crimes. The work contains important information that allows to determine the scale of this problem as well as information on violence against women. The main objective is to present the real situation of women with regard not only to religion, but also to the traditions of a given region.
