Szeptuchy - women from the Podlasie that heal with prayer

Celem pracy jest przedstawienie wizerunku Szeptuch z Podlasia, a konkretniej ich dar uzdrawiania ludzi poprzez modlitwę, praktyka, rozmaite czynności; wpływ pomocy kobiet na cierpiącego człowieka oraz ogólne przybliżenie tematu znachorów, ich przeciwników i zwolenników funkcjonujących w przeszłości i teraźniejszości. Praca dyplomowa będzie składała się z trzech osobnych rozdziałów. W I rozdziale chciałabym przedstawić obraz Podlasia oraz osób, które nazywane są Szeptuchami. II rozdział będzie opierał się na zebranym materiale badawczym (wywiady, opowieści Znachorek), przedstawione zostaną choroby, narzędzia, czynności i sytuacje związane z odczynianiem oraz osoby, które przyjechały po pomoc do Szeptuch. W III rozdziale chciałabym poruszyć kwestię aktualności medycyny ludowej, uzdrawiania ludzi poprzez modlitwę oraz sposób jej postrzegania poprzez osoby trzecie i kościół.

The aim of the study is to present the image of Szeptuch from the Podlasie and more specifically their gift of healing people through prayer, practice, various activities; the impact of women on the help of human suffering and the overall theme approximation of quacks, their opponents and proponents of functioning in the past and the present. Thesis will consist of three separate chapters. In the first chapter I would like to present a picture of Podlasie and those that are called Szeptuchami. The second chapter will be based on the collected research material (interviews, stories Znachorek), will be presented illness, tools, actions and situations related to the undoing and people who came for help Szeptuch. In the third chapter I would like to raise the issue of news folk medicine, healing people through prayer and the way it is perceived by third parties and the church.
