Italo-Celtic hypothesis - review and assessment of arguments for the existence of a language community

Niniejsza praca skupia się na prezentacji argumentów i próbie odpowiedzi na pytanie, które z nich mogą być uznane za najistotniejsze w potwierdzeniu istnienia hipotetycznej językowej wspólnoty italo-celtyckiej. Chociaż temat był badany wielokrotnie, nie jest pewne czy taka wspólnota istniała, nie istnieje też większa praca skupiająca najnowsze argumenty. W pierwszej kolejności jest przedstawiona historia badań, następnie zostały komparatystycznie zestawione systemy fonologiczne jęzków praitalskiego i praceltyckiego. W zasadniczej części pracy przeprowadzona zostaje analiza argumentów fonetycznych i fonologicznych. Następnie praca analizuje wspólne innowacje morfologiczne i leksykalne. W ostatniej części pracy przedstawione są rozważania i wnioski z przeanalizowanego materiału.

The study focuses on presenting arguments and attempting to answer the question which of them may be considered the most important in confirming the existence of a hypothetical Italo-Celtic language community. Although the phenomenon has been investigated many times, it is not certain whether such a community existed. Does not exist any major work focusing the latest arguments. The research history is presented first, followed by comparative phonological systems of the Praitalic and Pracelitc languages. In the main part of the work, an analysis of phonetic and phonological arguments is carried out. Then the work analyzes joint morphological and lexical innovations. The last part of the work presents considerations and conclusions from the analyzed material.
