Material mythological cycle the funeral of Franciszek Dionizy Kniaźnin

Praca odnosi się do historii mitu Orfeusz i Eurydyka i przedstawionego w nim motywu miłości silniejszej od śmierci. Przedmiotem prowadzonych badań stał się cykl Żale Orfeusza nad Eurydyką autorstwa Franciszka Dionizego Kniaźnina. W rozdziale pierwszym przybliżam sylwetkę Franciszka Dionizego Kniaźnina. Drugi rozdział dotyczy problematyki inspiracji mitologicznych śpiewaka Temiry, dlatego też omówione zostaje tu oddziaływanie mitologii oraz literatury grecko-rzymskiej na dorobek literacki oświeceniowego pisarza. W rozdziale trzecim przybliżone są najistotniejsze elementy związane z historią Orfeusza i Eurydyki, jak też zaprezentowane różnice występujące pomiędzy mitem a dziełami Wergiliusza oraz Owidiusza. Rozdział czwarty to analiza cyklu funeralnego Żale Orfeusza nad Eurydyką i zestawienie tej koncepcji antyczną tradycją oraz Trenami Jana Kochanowskiego. W rozdziale piątym pokazane zostaje funkcjonowanie motywu miłości w utworze Kniaźnina.

This master’s degree thesis pertains to the mythos ‘Orpheus and Eurydice” and the theme of love stronger than death pictured in it. The subject of the held research is a series of entitled Żale Orfeusza nad Eurydyką by Franciszka Dionizego Kniaźnina. The first chapter gives a broad outline of the poet’s life and work. The second chapter concentrates on mythological inspirations of the singer Temira, therefore I elaborate the influence of the mythology and Greek-Roman literature on the literary output of the Entlightment Age writer. In the third chapter I approach the most important issues connected with the “Orpheus and Eurydice” mythos and I also present the differences between the mythos and Wergild and Ovid compositions. The fourth chapter is an analysis of the Franciszek Dionizy Kniazin’s funerary series of Żale Orfeusza nad Eurydyką and also a collation of this concept, the ancient tradition and “Laments” of Jan Kochanowski. The fifth chapter shows how the motive of love in the Żale Orfeusza nad Eurydyką of F. D. Kniazin functions.
