Sztuki Becketta jako Krajobrazy Umysłu

Niniejsza praca przedstawia analizę dwóch sztuk Samuela Becketta, Czekając na Godota oraz Szczęśliwe Dni. Głównym założeniem jest teza, że w dramatach zaprezentowane jest wewnętrzne funkcjonowanie ludzkiego umysłu. We wstępie omówione są cechy ogólne teatru absurdu wraz z komentarzem na temat stylu i dzieł Becketta. W kolejnych częściach dwa dramaty zostają poddane szczegółowej analizie z naciskiem na ich dramatyczny krajobraz – rolę bohaterów, czasu, miejsca, fabuły, publiczności, jak i przedmiotów. Trzecia część jest poświęcona interpretacji motywów obecnych w sztukach i ich znaczeniu dla głównego tematu pracy – jak został przedstawiony wewnętrzny świat człowieka.

The thesis presents analysis of two of Samuel Beckett’s plays, Waiting for Godot and Happy Days. The main assumption is that the dramas’ landscapes represent the inner workings of human mind. In the introduction, the general properties of the Theatre of the Absurd are discussed, together with the comment on Beckett’s own style and works. In the consecutive parts two of his dramas are examined in detail with emphasis on their dramatic landscape – the role of the characters, time, place, plot, audience, as well as objects. The third part is devoted to the interpretation of the various themes in the plays and their bearing on the main topic – how the inner side of human is represented in the plays.
