The theme of a misfit child in the literature turn of the century.

In my work there are presented silhouettes of childhood heroes who are marked by differences. For the first time a theme of the child appeared in the Romantic era, but as a foreground hero children appeared in the positivism. Since that time, there are plenty of literary works moving issues, diversity, sensitivity of the young hero. This was due to the positivist program which provided monitoring of rural areas socially and culturally backward. For this purpose, there were painted realistic images of peasant life, and exposed no fault of suffering and vulnerability of abused young hero. Positivism literature constitute a large group of children misfits, who couldn't adapt to the realities in their communities, that why they were persecuted. Among them there were extracted and described three categories of different children. The first one are children deprived of support, acceptance and care of adults. Another clear example of outstanding heroes against the background of his community are children with artistic skills, whose talent showed to be a burden to them and condemned them to the alienation and misunderstanding in their society. Third category of misfit heroes were characterized by the ability of deep experience sensations and emotions and special sensitivity to beauty and music. Although all of them morally better were condemned to suffering and loneliness.

W pracy zaprezentowane zostały sylwetki dziecięcych bohaterów naznaczonych piętnem odmienności. Tematem dziecka po raz pierwszy szerzej zainteresowali się pisarze tworzący w epoce romantyzmu, jednak jednym z pierwszoplanowych bohaterów literackich stało się ono dopiero w pozytywizmie. Od tego czasu powstało mnóstwo utworów poruszających problemy, odmienność, wrażliwość niedorosłego bohatera. Wiązało się to z narzuconą przez pozytywistyczny program potrzebą objęcia obserwacją terenów wiejskich, zacofanych społecznie i obyczajowo. W tym celu kreślono realistyczne obrazy z życia chłopa oraz eksponowano niezawinione cierpienie i bezbronność krzywdzonego niedorosłego bohatera. Liczną grupę stanowią w literaturze okresu postaci dzieci odmieńców, które nie potrafiły dostosować się do realiów panujących w ich społecznościach, co sprawiało, że były prześladowane. Wśród nich zostały wyodrębnione i opisane trzy kategorie dzieci odmiennych. Pierwszą z nich stanowią postaci pozbawione wsparcia akceptacji i opieki dorosłych. Kolejnym wyrazistym przykładem bohaterów wyróżniających się na tle swojej społeczności są dzieci uzdolnione artystycznie, których talent okazywał się być dla nich ciężarem i skazywał je na wyobcowanie i niezrozumienie w swoim środowisku. Trzecią kategorię odmieńca stanowią bohaterowie, którzy charakteryzowali się zdolnością głębokiego przeżywania wrażeń i emocji, oraz szczególną wrażliwością na piękno i muzykę. Wszyscy oni choć moralnie lepsi skazani byli na cierpienie i samotność.
