The phenomenon of Boko Haram in the context of the reform movements in Nigeria

Praca dotyczy ruchów reformatorskich w Nigerii i odnowy religijnej w kontekście działań organizacji Boko Haram. Porusza problem aktów terrorystycznych organizacji, która znana jest na kontynencie afrykańskim, ze swoich bestialskich czynów w imię odnowy islamu. Praca opisuję genezę powstania ugrupowania; przybliża sylwetki obu dowódców organizacji — Yusufa i Shekau. Odnosi się do historii ofiary organizacji oraz stanowiska uczonych muzułmańskich, którzy starają się wyznaczyć granicę pomiędzy religią i praktykowaniem wiary, a terrorem. Nierzadko z tego powodu przypłacają życiem.

The thesis concerns the reform movements in Nigeria and religious renewal in the context of the Boko Haram organisation. It raises the problem of terrorist acts by an organisation that is known on the African continent for its bestial acts in the name of the renewal of Islam. The work describes the genesis of the formation of the grouping; it brings closer the profiles of both organization's commanders - Yusuf and Shekau. It refers to the history of the victim and the position of Muslim scholars, who try to draw the line between religion and practice of faith, and terror. It's not uncommon for them to pay with their lives.
