Linguistic analysis of street-names in Strasbourg

Przedmiotem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej jest nazewnictwo szlaków komunikacyjnych Strasburga. Praca składa się z czterech części, z których pierwsza przedstawia informacje ogólne dotyczące onomastyki i jej podkategorii – toponimii, urbanonimii i hodonimii. W rozdziale drugim przybliżono historię miasta, rozwój nomenklatury miejskiej oraz czynniki, dzięki którym badany materiał wyróżnia się na tle innych miast francuskich. Kolejne części zawierają prezentację korpusu badawczego oraz jego analizę, przeprowadzoną pod kątem semantyki i formy.

The aim of this thesis is to present and analyze the street-names of Strasbourg. The dissertation consists of four parts and the first one contains general information about onomastics and its subcategories – toponymy, urbanonymy and hodonymy. In the second part, there are mentioned the history of the city, the development ofurban area and the factors- thanks to which studied subject stands out from the other French cities and towns. Another parts include the presentation of the research and its analysis, which was carried out paying special attention to semantics and form.

L’objectif de ce mémoire est d’analyser les noms de voies de communication de la ville de Strasbourg. Le travail contient quatre parties dont la première comporte des informations générales sur l’onomastique et ses sous-catégories – toponymie, urbanonymie et odonymie. Deuxième chapitre présente l’histoire de la ville, le développement de sa nomenclature urbaine et les facteurs qui particularisent le matériau de recherche par rapport à d’autres villes françaises. Les parties suivantes comprennent la présentation du corpus suivie de l’analyse étudiant la sémantique et la forme des noms de rues strasbourgeoises.
