The Chernobyl explosion and its consequences.Cultural and social contexts

W pracy przeanalizowano katastrofę w elektrowni jądrowej w Czarnobylu, jako jedną z najsłynniejszych i najbardziej tragicznych na świecie. Wypadek, do którego doszło 26 kwietnia 1986 roku, zaznaczył się nie tylko w historii Ukrainy, ale i również innych krajów. Katastrofa spowodowała wiele skutków ekonomicznych, ekologicznych oraz kulturowych. W pracy skupiłam się głównie na konsekwencjach kulturowych wybuchu, czyli na tym, jak zaznaczył się on w kulturze.Historyczna elektrownia w Czarnobylu zajmuje istotne miejsce w świadomości Ukraińców. Niestety, nie wszyscy ludzie zdają sobie z tego sprawę i korzystają się z tego miejsca w celach prywatnych, tym samym narażając siebie i innych na niebezpieczeństwo. Wypadek jest uważany nie tylko za największy w historii energetyki jądrowej, pod względem liczby ofiar śmiertelnych i szkód ekonomicznych, ale również za istotny dla kultury. Odznaczył się w wielu dziełach, które powstały jako reakcja na wybuch lub refleksja na jego temat, z czasem wpłynął również na turystykę. W pracy przeanalizowałam, jaką rolę odegrała katastrofa w Czarnobylu w powstaniu utworów na ten temat i wzmocnieniu turystyki na terenie Ukrainy. W utworach literackich i filmowych, autorzy skupiają się na kilku wątkach - dokumentalnych, historycznych oraz artystycznych. Katastrofa, której przyczyny nadal są niejasne, pozostawiła ogromny ślad w historii naszego świata, spowodowała wiele różnorodnych konsekwencji. Dała powody, by przemyśleć ludzki stosunek do przyrody, uzmysłowiła jak istotne znaczenie ma dziedzictwo kulturowe oraz jak łatwo może go zniszczyć ludzka nieodpowiedzialność.

The paper analyses the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster as one of the most famous and most tragic in the world. The accident, which took place on April 26, 1986, marked itself not only in the history of Ukraine, but also of other countries. The catastrophe caused many economic, ecological and cultural consequences. In my work, I focused mainly on the cultural consequences of the explosion.The historic Chernobyl power plant has an important place in the consciousness of Ukrainians. Unfortunately, not all people are aware of this and use this place for private purposes, thus putting themselves and others at risk. The accident is considered not only the largest in the history of nuclear power, in terms of fatalities and economic damage, but also important for culture. It has marked itself in many works that were created as a reaction to or reflection on the explosion and over time has also affected tourism. In this work, I analyzed the role played by the Chernobyl disaster in the creation of works on the subject and strengthening tourism in Ukraine. In literary and film works, the authors focus on several threads - documentary, historical and artistic. The catastrophe, the causes of which are still unclear, has left a huge trace in the history of our world and has caused many different consequences. It gave reasons to rethink the human attitude to nature, made us aware of the importance of cultural heritage, and how easily human irresponsibility can destroy it.
