The contemporary changes of tourism function of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland

Niniejsza praca ma na celu ukazanie współczesnych przemian funkcji turystycznej na Wyżynie Krakowsko-Częstochowskiej, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem kwestii związanych z gospodarowaniem walorami turystycznymi, rozwojem infrastruktury turystycznej oraz nowych form turystyki, a także zarządzaniem turystyką na szczeblu regionalnym i lokalnym.Wyżyna Krakowsko-Częstochowska stanowi ważny region na mapie turystycznej Polski. Decyduje o tym bogactwo walorów turystycznych i stan zagospodarowania turystycznego. Charakter ruchu turystycznego na tym regionie uwarunkowany jest przez położenie. Wyżyna leżąca w otoczeniu trzech aglomeracji, staje się celem krótkich podróży, zwłaszcza weekendowych.Największe zmiany jakie zaszły w ostatniej dekadzie na Wyżynie Krakowsko-Częstochowskiej obejmują poprawę stanu bazy noclegowej (zarówno pod względem ilościowym jak i jakościowym) oraz rozwój form turystyki aktywnej, turystyki biznesowej, spa i wellness.

This dissertation aims to present contemporary transformations of the tourism function on the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, with particular attention to issues related to the management of tourist values, development of tourism infrastructure and new forms of tourism as well as tourism management at regional and local level.The Kraków-Częstochowa Upland is an important region on the tourist map of Poland. This is determined by the multitude of tourist values and the condition of tourist development. The nature of tourist traffic in this region is conditioned by the location. The Upland, located in the vicinity of three agglomerations, becomes a destination for short trips, especially during the weekends.The biggest changes in the last decade on the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland include the improvement of the accommodation (both in quantitative and qualitative) and the development of active tourism, business tourism, spa and wellness.
