Professional football league management - comparative analysis between Premier Leage and La Liga

Poniższa praca magisterska obejmuje tematykę zarządzania profesjonalną ligą piłkarską, z wykorzystaniem przykładu dwóch najsłynniejszych i najsilniejszych lig piłkarskich na świecie – Premier League w Anglii oraz LaLiga w Hiszpanii. Część teoretyczna pracy zawiera się w definicjach sportu i informacjach zawartych w Białej księdze na temat sportu, jak i również szerokie omówienie struktury organizacyjnej lig piłkarskich w Europie i na świecie. W pracy przedstawiono i podano źródła finansowania lig dla wielu przykładów. Kolejna część pracy stanowi opis piłki nożnej jako profesjonalnej dyscypliny sportu, w jej aspekcie historycznym do czasów historycznych. Omówione zostały szczegółowo struktury i zagadnienia związane z Premier League i LaLiga. Przeanalizowano, czy zarządzanie profesjonalną ligą piłkarską, różni się w Premier League w Anglii i LaLiga w Hiszpanii.Celem pracy było przedstawienie zarządzania profesjonalną ligą piłkarską na przykładzie Premier League w Anglii i LaLiga w Hiszpanii. Przedmiotem badań byli kibice sportowi, obserwatorzy lig Premier League i La Liga oraz dokumenty wytworzone na potrzeby obydwóch lig. W poniższej pracy magisterskiej wykorzystano następujące metody badawcze – metoda sondażu diagnostycznego (z wykorzystaniem autorskiego kwestionariusza ankiety) oraz metody analizy strategicznej (z wykorzystaniem analizy strategicznej SWOT oraz analizy wzajemnych powiązań).Przeprowadzone badania potwierdziły wszystkie cztery hipotezy postawione w pracy magisterskiej. Należy wyróżnic przede wszystkim trzecią hipotezę, stwierdzającą, iż Premier League i LaLiga mają swoje charakterystyczne słabe i mocne strony, co wskazuje na różnice jakimi cechują się te ligi a jednocześnie pozwala na zobrazowanie podejścia władz tych podmiotów do kwestii zarządzania profesjonalną ligą piłkarską. Analiza tematyki zarządzania profesjonalną ligą piłkarską przeprowadzona w niniejszej pracy magisterskiej nie wyczerpuje w pełni omawianego zagadnienia. Jest to jednak odpowiedni punkt wyjścia, mogący przyczynić się do rozwoju tego tematu w środowisku, jak i jednocześnie źródło, które może posłużyć jako oparcie dla badaczy i studentów zainteresowanych tematyką zarządzania w profesjonalnym sporcie. W pracy magisterskiej wykorzystano różnego rodzaju źródła; począwszy od pozycji związanych ściśle z aspektami technicznymi pisania pracy, w celu odpowiedniego przygotowania rozdziału trzeciego, poprzez takie pozwalające na szczegółowy opis części teoretycznej, kończąc na dziełach odnoszących się bezpośrednio do omawianego tematu pracy. Niektóre z użytych źródeł dostępne są on-line, inne zaś tylko w formie fizycznej.

The following master's thesis covers the management of a professional football league, using the example of the two most famous and strongest football leagues in the world - the Premier League in England and LaLiga in Spain. The theoretical part of the work includes the definitions of sport and information contained in the White Book on sport, as well as a broad discussion of the organizational structure of football leagues in Europe and around the world. The work presents and provides sources of financing for leagues for many examples. The next part of the work is a description of football as a professional sport, in its historical aspect until historical times. The structures and issues related to the Premier League and LaLiga were discussed in detail. It was analyzed whether the management of a professional football league differs between the Premier League in England and LaLiga in Spain.The aim of the work was to present the management of a professional football league on the example of the Premier League in England and LaLiga in Spain. The subject of the research were sports fans, observers of the Premier League and La Liga, and documents created for both leagues.The following research methods were used in the following master's thesis - the diagnostic survey method (using an original survey questionnaire) and the strategic analysis method (using the SWOT strategic analysis and the analysis of mutual connections).The conducted research confirmed all four hypotheses put forward in the master's thesis. First of all, the third hypothesis should be distinguished, stating that the Premier League and LaLiga have their characteristic strengths and weaknesses, which indicates the differences that characterize these leagues and at the same time allows for illustrating the approach of the authorities of these entities to the issue of managing a professional football league.The analysis of the management of a professional football league conducted in this master's thesis does not fully expand the discussed issue. However, it is an appropriate starting point that can contribute to the development of this topic in the community, as well as a source that can serve as support for researchers and students interested in the topic of management in professional sports.Various sources were used in the master's thesis; starting from items strictly related to the technical aspects of writing the thesis, in order to properly prepare the third chapter, through those allowing for a detailed description of the theoretical part, ending with works relating directly to the discussed topic of the thesis. Some of the sources used are available online, others only in physical form.
