The article examines the concept of dematerialization and types of dematerialized securities. Under the recent legal developments in the Ukraine, the regulation on dematerialization of securities is determined by types of securities that may exist only in dematerialized form. The author examines the mechanism of transfer of rights in such securities, paying attention to the peculiarities of the legal regulation of the transfer of rights in dematerialized securities under the law of Ukraine "On depository system of Ukraine" of July 6, 2012, as well as indicates contradictions between selected articles and formulates proposals of their legislative improvement.
