The modern culture of the Górale Żywieccy on the example of the commune Ujsoły

Celem pracy jest przedstawienie współczesnej kultury Górali Żywieckich. Jako obszar badań wybrano bliską autorce gminę Ujsoły. W pierwszym rozdziale zaprezentowano krótko charakterystykę gminy i najważniejsze wydarzenia historyczne, mające miejsce w tym regionie. Następnie omówiono tradycyjne cechy lokalnej kultury góralskiej, takie jak: żywiecką gwarę, stroje, muzykę i tańce, liczne, interesujące wierzenia i zabobony, codzienne życie, wymieniono regionalne potrawy, wspomniano też o zbójnictwie. Kolejne rozdziały pracy poświęcono już zasadniczej tematyce, skupiono się na zmianach, jakie w ostatnich dekadach zaszły w kulturze Górali Ujsolskich. W ostatnim, badawczym, rozdziale zaprezentowano wyniki wywiadów indywidualnych z ośmioma mieszkańcami gminy Ujsoły, które miały za zadanie ukazać ich postawy wobec własnej kultury i związanego z nią dziedzictwa kulturowego.

The aim of the work is to present the contemporary culture of the Górale Żywieccy. The municipality of Ujsoły, close to the author, was chosen as the research area. The first chapter briefly presents the characteristics of the municipality and the most important historical events taking place in the region. Then the traditional features of the local highland culture were discussed, such as: local dialect, costumes, music and dances, numerous interesting beliefs and superstitions, everyday life, regional dishes, and robbery. Subsequent chapters of the work have already been devoted to the fundamental theme, focusing on the changes that have taken place in this culture in recent decades. In the last, research section, the results of individual interviews with eight residents of the municipality of Ujsoły were presented, which were intended to show their attitudes towards their own culture and related cultural heritage.
