Metaliguistic digressions in the Polish translation of Javier Marías' "Tomorrow in the Battle Think on Me"

Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza tłumaczenia na język polski 24 fragmentów powieści "Jutro, w czas bitwy, o mnie myśl", zawierających dygresje o charakterze metajęzykowym. Pierwszy rozdział poświęcony jest biografii, twórczości oraz stylowi pisarskiemu Javiera Maríasa, autora wspomnianej powieści. Drugi rozdział zawiera informacje na temat analizowanej książki, jej tłumacza na język polski oraz technik tłumaczeniowych wg klasyfikacji Hurtado Albir. Ostatnia część drugiego rozdziału została poświęcona analizie tłumaczeń na język polski wybranych fragmentów.

The objective of this work is to analyze 24 passages from "Tomorrow in the Battle Think on Me" that include metalinguistic digressions. The first chapter is dedicated to Javier Marías' biography, oeuvre and writing style. The second chapter includes some basic information about the novel in question, its Polish translator and gives an overview of translation techniques according to the Hurtado Albir's classification. The latter part of the second chapter is an attempt at analysing the Polish translation of a selection of fragments from the novel.

Este trabajo tiene como objetivo llevar a cabo un análisis de las traducciones al polaco de 24 fragmentos de la novela "Mañana en la batalla piensa en mí" que contienen digresiones de carácter metalingüístico. El primer capítulo está dedicado a la biografía, obra y estilo literario de Javier Marías, autor de la novela mencionada. En el segundo capítulo se expone información acerca del libro analizado, su traductor al polaco y las técnicas de traducción según la clasificación de Hurtado Albir. La última parte del segundo capítulo está dedicada al análisis de los fragmentos elegidos.
