Intercultural competence of students in Jagiellonian University. Based on first and third grade of chosen Institutes of Faculty of International and Political Studies.

W pracy przedstawiony zostaje problem obecności kompetencji międzykulturowych u studentów Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego i tego jak programy studiów w wybranych jednostkach przyczyniają się do wykształcenia lub rozwijania kompetencji już posiadanych. Ze względu na duży nacisk kładziony na kształcenie w kierunku wielokulturowości i międzykulturowości do badań wybrane zostały Instytuty: Bliskiego i Dalekiego Wschodu, Studiów Międzykulturowych i Europeistyki. Wszystkie trzy należące do Wydziału Studiów Międzynarodowych i Politycznych. Badania miały potwierdzić lub obalić hipotezy dotyczące: istnienia i istotności kompetencji międzykulturowych we współczesnych społeczeństwach, związku rodzaju podejmowanych studiów z poziomem posiadanych kompetencji międzykulturowych oraz zdobywania i rozwoju kompetencji w czasie trwania studiów.

The text indroduces an issue of existence of intercultural competence within students of Jagiellonian University and how programmes of studies in chosen Institutes influence creation or development already existing competences. Strong emphasis put on intercultural and cross-cultural education caused choosing for reasearch three Instututes:Institute of Intercultural Studies, Institute of the Middle and Far East and Institute of European Studies. All of them belongs to Faculty of International and Political Studies. Research had to prove or disprove hypothesis: existence and importance of intercultural competencies in modern societies, link between chosen studies and level of developed intercultural competences and developing competences during studies.
