Akceptacja choroby przez osobę zakażoną wirusem HIV
Acceptance of the disease by an HIV - infected person
wirus HIV, AIDS, akceptacja choroby.
HIV virus, AIDS, disease acceptance.
Taki stan powoduje ograniczenia i zmiany w dotychczasowym funkcjonowaniu, natomiast akceptacja zakażenia/choroby sprzyja mobilizacji sił osoby, a także umożliwia zapobieganiu obniżenia jakości życia.
SummaryIntroduction: Human immunodeficiency virus - HIV, which can cause acquired immune deficiency syndrome - AIDS. HIV and AIDS is one of the major health problems in the world. Since 1985, when they started testing people for HIV, 26 000 people have been diagnosed. The highest incidence occurs among men. There are three main ways of infection: sexual intercourse, blood and vertical transmission. Every chronic disease is connected with anger, fear, annoyance and limites your functioning. A full acceptance of the disease and the ability to live with its restrictions let the patient properly evaluate their quality of life in the field of physical ability, psychological and social feelings as well as the satisfaction in various aspects of functioning. The higher disease acceptance, the higher the quality of life. Aim: The aim of the thesis was the assessment of the level on which patients with virus HIV accept their disease.Material and methods: The method of the individual case study of a 35 – year old patient who was diagnosed with HIV. The following techniques have been used: interview, basic vital signs, observation and analysis of the patient's medical records. The main research tools that were used: proprietary research questionnaire and AIS scale. Results: On the AIS scale the respondent obtained 18 points, which means that he has a low level of acceptance of the disease, comparable to the level of acceptance of patients with chronic pain. An obstacle to acceptance is the anxiety of infecting other people, which is exacerbated by contact with them. According to the respondent, it is helpful in accepting the disease to deepen the knowledge about it.Conclusions: By enabling the acceptance of HIV infection/AIDS, the functioning of the infected/sick person is better. The higher the acceptance level, the greater the activity of the infected/sick person and the better treatment outcomes.
